Most families wait too long to have conversations about end of life care. Among the problems of waiting until one’s parent or grandparent has a medical emergency is that your thinking is clouded by your emotions and the sick person may not be able to inform the family about what kind of care they want and who gets what money and which family heirlooms. Too often tense family ties are broken by end of life issues.
