Parents beware of overdoing the compliments you give your child. You could turn your kids into raging narcissists. A study of 565 between the ages of 7 and 11 found that overdoing the compliments, telling your child that he or she is ‘very special’ and ‘deserve a lot of good things’ is not good for your child’s mental health.
If your child has self-confidence and high-esteem he would not think he’s better than others. She would think that she is good at this or that.
Parental warmth and love is (without saying you are the best) always good for the child.
