IT’S THE MONEY, HONEY
one of the most difficult issues in couples therapy with Ella Lasky, PhD
Money is a topic that has received little or no attention in our training. We will focus on helping our couples discover their hidden patterns of dealing with money. Learn techniques to help them be more open, honest and transparent with their partners about money. We will look at the intense transference and counter-transference triggered by this topic, offer concrete techniques and explore several clinical approaches to address this issue without raising patients’ resistance.

IT’S ABOUT THE MONEY AND IT’S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY with Barbara Mitchell, LCSW
What factors draw individuals with seemingly incompatible ways of dealing with money toward each other? This workshop will describe several “money tyes”, identify their origins in early emotional deprivation, and explain how the couple’s money problem reflects their core relationship issues. A treatment approach that addresses the money problem and the relationship issues simultaneously will be outlined.
