Weight loss, what works?
There have been so many diets and so many studies, so many contradictory findings. Finally there is one study which confirms what I believe: all diets works. The diet that is best is the one you will follow and does not make you feel deprived.
Researchers at Stanford University followed 600 people for one year. Half were on a low carbohydrate diet and half were on a low fat diet. In this well designed study, the subjects were genotyped, had their insulin levels drawn, etc. Guess what? The two groups lost, on average, about the same amount of weight, 11.5 to 13 pounds.
